A1 Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.12 billion (USD1.3 billion) for the second quarter of 2019, an increase of 2.6% from EUR1.09 billion in the year-ago period, mainly driven by service revenue growth in all markets. Group EBITDA fell 1.4% from EUR397.5 million in Q2 2018 to EUR392.1 billion twelve months later, and A1 Telekom Austria Group said that the reported net result grew 20.4% year-on-year to EUR70.0 million, positively impacted by the brand amortisation of last year, although the firm noted that a tax case in Bulgaria had a negative impact on net income in Q2 2019.
At 30 June 2019 A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 21.18 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 2.0% year-on-year, mainly led by growth in Serbia (+4.5%) and Croatia (2.8%), while mobile customer numbers declined in Bulgaria (down 3.4%) and Austria (0.8%). Total wireline RGUs rose by 0.5% from 6.14 million at mid-2018 to 6.17 million twelve months later, as broadband RGU growth and higher TV RGUs compensated for the decline of fixed voice.
