Orange Romania planning to install around 900 4G antennas in 2019

12 Jul 2019

Orange Romania, the country’s largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, is planning to install approximately 900 LTE and LTE-A-enabled antennas to improve network coverage and speed, the company’s CTO Emmanuel Chautard has revealed in an interview with Ziarul Financial. According to the executive, Orange will launch 5G once it can offer customers a network with ’adequate’ coverage and enough compatible mobile phones, which is expected to be in late 2019 or early 2020. To this end, the cellco will also increase network capex by 20% to 25% this year from a total annual investment budget of over EUR100 million (USD113 million).
