Viettel and Telecom Cambodia prepare for 5G trials in Phnom Penh

Viettel Cambodia, which operates under the brand name Metfone, is preparing to test 5G technology in the capital Phnom Penh this month. VnExpress cites the firm’s deputy general director, Nhong Dinthon, as saying that Viettel has teamed up with state-owned Telecom Cambodia to carry out the trials. Both parties also agreed to share their IT infrastructure and invest in areas such as e-government, e-health, e-education, e-agriculture, smart cities and IoT.
