DIGI extends fibre to Valencia

10 Jul 2019

Spanish MVNO-turned-ISP DIGI Mobil has announced that it has extended its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service to Valencia. The Romanian-owned telco’s fibre footprint now spans Madrid, Guadalajara, Castellon, Almeria and Zaragoza. DIGI, which targets the Romanian diaspora in Spain – almost 20% of the country’s foreign population – launched its first fibre product in September 2018, and claimed 19,000 FTTH subscribers at 31 March 2019, alongside 1.5 million mobile customers. The service leverages the Telefonica Espana (Movistar) network, although plans are underway to deploy an independent fibre network in Madrid.
