Telekom Srbija snaps up another ISP

9 Jul 2019

State-owned full-service provider Telekom Srbija has acquired cable provider Telemark for an undisclosed figure, SeeNews reports. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, but the company said in an emailed statement to the outlet that the deal would increase Telekom Srbija’s subscriber base and allow it to provide faster internet and better TV services to Telemark’s customers. The takeover is part of the operator’s acquisitive expansion strategy, which saw the company create a new cableco – branded as Supernova – in March 2019 by merging its recent acquisitions, including Kopernikus Technology and Radijus Vektor. The strategy also saw the company unsuccessfully bid for Telekom Albania in late 2018, whilst its Bosnian division Telkom Srpske (operating under the m:tel name) completed takeovers of ISPs Telrad Net and Blicnet earlier this year.
