Telia digs deep for underground 5G launch

Telia, Ericsson and mining firm Boliden have built what they say is the world’s first underground 5G new radio (NR) network at a mine in Kankberg, Sweden. The 5G network provides communication, automation and monitoring capabilities, Telia says. In addition, the network will be used to develop solutions for automated and sustainable mining.
