Tiscali to use Linkem’s 3.5GHz networks

3 Jul 2019

Italian ISP Tiscali has signed an agreement to utilise the infrastructure of fixed-wireless operator Linkem. The deal will enable Tiscali to expand its geographic reach and its service portfolio. Linkem utilises 3.5GHz spectrum to provide fixed-wireless access based on TD-LTE technology, with networks covering around two-thirds of the Italian population. Tiscali already has a TD-LTE network sharing deal in place with Fastweb, which acquired Tiscali’s 3.5GHz licence and infrastructure last year, while it also has an agreement with wholesale network operator Open Fiber which allows it to offer fibre-based internet access in 50 cities.
