VDT set to expand LTE to new areas of Nigeria

26 Jun 2019

VDT Communications is looking to expand its 4G LTE service beyond its current coverage area of Lagos, local newspaper Guardian reports. The firm’s CEO and Managing Director, Abiodun Omoniyi, said expansion will be carried out in phases, starting with commercial centres and eventually reaching 19 states. ‘We have 80% of Lagos covered already, and hope to complete the entire state by end of the year. About 18 other states should be completed by 2020,’ he said.

VDT currently offers enterprise and business customers LTE-A services over the 2.3GHz wholesale wireless broadband network of Bitflux Communications. Alongside the coverage expansion, VDT will open up services to personal and residential subscribers.
