BT Group is exploring the sale of its Spanish business as part of a plan to streamline its overseas operations, the Telegraph reports. The British telecoms giant has started talks with potential buyers of BT Espana, the broadsheet notes, although the likely bidders are understood to include buyout firms and infrastructure investors rather than Spain’s major B2C operators.
The divestment represents just one component of the break-up and restructuring of BT’s international arm, Global Services. In April this year, the Telegraph revealed BT had put its BT Ireland business up for sale, for GBP400 (USD509.1 million). In its latest report, the newspaper notes that this sale process remains ‘ongoing’.
