Telenor Serbia has installed its first 5G site for trials of the technology at the Belgrade Science and Technology Park, the operator said in an press release. Telenor invited other companies from the country and throughout the region to take advantage of the test environment to ‘develop their business solutions for the future, today’. B2B provider Novelic and Iot software firm Digital Worx – both Belgrade-based – presented solutions on the trial system and will continue to work on developing 5G applications for their products, Telenor noted. The cellco’s 5G trial network utilises a temporary spectrum allocation in the 2600MHz and 3500MHz bands, assigned by the regulator for 5G tests. As noted by TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Telenor Serbia has been owned by international investment company PPF Group since July 2018, when it was purchased from Norway’s Telenor Group.
