KPN of the Netherlands is accelerating its rollout of fibre-optic broadband access in The Hague, the telco announced on its website, planning to connect at least 80,000 households across various districts of the city to its open fibre network by the end of 2021. Having previously deployed fibre access in the Benoordenhout and Ypenburg districts, KPN is continuing fibre expansion in Hofstad district and plans to begin rollout in Regentessekwartier district (first announced in March) at the beginning of July. In its wider open fibre network rollout across the Netherlands, KPN expects to have deployed active gigabit-capable access infrastructure in more than 50 areas by the end of this year.
