30 May 2019

Cableco UPC Slovakia has launched 1Gbps connections for home users in the capital Bratislava and the neighbouring towns of Pezinok and Svaty Jur. The new service, powered by DOCSIS 3.1 technology and utilising the premium Giga ConnectBox Wi-Fi router, is available to more than 200,000 premises, the firm says.

Martin Miller, CEO of UPC in the Czech and Slovak Republics, commented: ‘I am pleased that UPC internet at 1Gbps will have the largest coverage of homes in Bratislava in the first phase of its launch. It is the result of long-term and substantial investments in the development of our broadband network and technology based on DOCSIS 3.1, which will offer our customers new opportunities for virtual entertainment.’
