TIM’s EUR74.3m fine suspended again

24 May 2019

A court in Rome has extended the suspension of a fine which was handed out to Telecom Italia (TIM) last year. The EUR74.3 million (USD82.7 million) penalty was imposed on TIM in June 2018 for failing to notify authorities that French firm Vivendi had assumed de facto control of the telco after increasing its shareholding to around 24%. The fine was suspended by the courts the same month, and Reuters reports that the payment has now been suspended until at least 30 November 2019.
