Italian ISP Tiscali says its partnership with wholesale network operator Open Fiber now extends to 50 cities, allowing it to offer internet access at speeds of up to 1Gbps. Open Fiber has so far deployed infrastructure in 80 cities, and a report from CorCom says that the firm is aiming to reach 150 cities by the end of this year and 271 markets – or 9.5 million premises – by 2023. Tiscali is one of around 80 operators which lease capacity on Open Fiber’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.
