Danish telco TDC, the country’s leading operator in terms of subscribers, has published its financial results for the three months ended 31 March 2019, reporting a 0.6% decline in revenues year-on-year to DKK4.304 billion (USD642 million) from DKK4.329 billion in Q1 2019. Adjusted for the impact from acquisitions, organic revenue decreased by 1.4% due mainly to a decline in landline voice and TV revenues, which was partly offset by growth in mobility services. Meanwhile, EBITDA decreased by 3.9% in the period under review, from DKK1.767 billion to DKK1.698 billion, while gross profit totalled DKK3.094 billion (down 1.6% y-o-y). Profit for the period also decreased, to DKK228 million (down 64.5% y-o-y), while capital expenditures were up 17.8% y-o-y to DKK975 million, due to increased investments in TDC’s fibre rollout, a TV platform to support the new media strategy, and IT separation.
