ViewQwest to offer services over TM’s HSBB network

Singapore-based fibre broadband access provider ViewQwest is reportedly set to expand its coverage area in Malaysia by dint of an agreement with the nation’s fixed line incumbent, Telekom Malaysia™. According to local press outlet SoyaCincau, ViewQwest has struck a deal with TM under which it will be able to offer services over the latter’s ‘High Speed Broadband’ (‘HSBB’) network. It is understood that ViewQwest expects to launch its new HSBB-based tariffs in either June or July, targeting more than a dozen new locations across the Klang Valley and Johor.

ViewQwest already offers fibre-based broadband connectivity in Malaysia, albeit with a limited geographical scope; the operator currently markets downlink speeds of up to 1Gbps via its own fibre infrastructure which is understood to cover selected property developments such as Setia Eco Glades in CyberJaya, Setia Sky 88 and Suasana Iskandar in Johor, and Tropicana Avenue and Tropicana Gardens in Petaling Jaya.
