Nur Telecom (O!) has announced that its 4G LTE mobile network now reaches 94% of Kyrgyzstan’s population, following its most recent expansion project across 51 settlements in seven regions (oblasts), claiming a leading position in the market in terms of 4G national footprint. The cellco also raised network capacity in the latest network development phase. The work encompassed the following oblasts: Chui (17 settlements/areas), Issyk-Kul (eight areas, including special focus on summer holiday destinations), Naryn (two areas), Talas (one area), Osh (ten areas), Jalal-Abad (seven areas) and Batken (six areas). Since the beginning of the year alone 4G has become accessible to ‘hundreds of thousands’ of people in ‘more than 1,000 remote locations’, the company stated on its website, adding that over the past two years the volume of data traffic on the O! network increased by 3.6 times.
