A1 Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.09 billion (USD1.2 billion) for the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 1.5% from EUR1.07 billion in the year-ago period, driven by stable or growing service revenues in all markets in both the fixed line and mobile business. Group EBITDA fell by 3.5%, however, decreasing from EUR387.8 million in Q1 2018 to EUR374.1 million twelve months later, due to restructuring charges of EUR20.9 million in Austria. A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a rise in the net result from EUR28.4 million to EUR85.9 million over the same period, positively impacted by the brand amortisation last year.
At 31 March 2019 A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 20.91 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year, while wireline RGUs rose by 3.5% y-o-y to 6.25 million at the end of 1Q19. A 2.2% decline in wireline RGUs in Austria, which was caused primarily by voice and to some extent also by low bandwidth broadband RGUs, was more than offset by increases in all other convergent markets, mostly due to broadband and TV RGUs.
