Poland could miss 2020 30Mbps target

30 Apr 2019

Poland’s Ministry of Digitisation (Ministerstwo Cyfryzacji, MC) has said the country may miss the EU Digital Agenda target of having 100% coverage for 30Mbps broadband services by end-2020. A report from Telko.in cites ministry official Dominik Kopera as saying that the target will be difficult to reach in rural areas due to a lack of funding for network rollouts. 66% of households had access to a connection of at least 30Mbps at the end of 2017, according to the ministry, with 50.5% of homes able to connect at speeds of 100Mbps or more.
