Vodafone completes gigabit cable rollout in Berlin

Vodafone Germany has revealed that its entire cable network in Berlin is able to supply customers with gigabit broadband speeds, following the upgrade of an additional 110,000 households in the capital. The firm is now able to give 1.4 million Berlin homes access to maximum download speeds of 1Gbps, and in total Vodafone can offer gigabit cable connections to 8.8 million homes in eleven federal states. Ultimately, the company is aiming to upgrade its entire cable network – passing 12.7 million homes in 13 states – to enable top speeds of 1Gbps by 2021.
