Cyta covers 10,000 homes with fibre

Cypriot incumbent telco Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta) has revealed that it has covered 10,000 homes with its fibre-optic network, with plans to extend the footprint to 25,000 by the end of 2019. Going forward, 200,000 homes across Cyprus with have access to fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services over the next ten years, with 60% of the project to be completed within four years. The fibre network is offering broadband speeds of up to 160Mbps (download) for residential subscribers (‘Internet Home’) and up to 1Gbps for B2B customers (‘Internet Business’).
