Telekom enables 100Mbps broadband for 139,000 more homes

Telekom Deutschland, the domestic fixed and mobile operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), has increased maximum internet download speeds to 100Mbps for a further 139,000 households as part of its ongoing network upgrade. The latest expansion, which enables upload speeds of 40Mbps, covers 171 municipalities, including Bielefeld (7,700 homes), Chemnitz (5,400), Gifhorn (4,400), Simbach am Inn (4,200), Borsdorf (4,000) and Bruchmuhlbach-Miesau (3,600). DT aims to offer 80% of homes speeds of between 50Mbps and 100Mbps by the end of 2019.
