29 Mar 2019

Cellco Tele2 Russia – part-owned by national fixed network operator Rostelecom – has launched mobile services in the Ivanovo region, and now covers 66 of Russia’s 85 regions. From launch, Tele2 covered 96% of Ivanovo’s population, reaching all cities/regional centres and most villages and townships in the region with its 2G/3G/4G network services. Tele2’s three larger cellular rivals MTS, MegaFon and Beeline all cover 83 Russian regions each – none of the major cellcos operate in the Russian-occupied Crimea/Sevastopol.
