Ooredoo continues Massive MIMO upgrade

27 Mar 2019

Ooredoo Oman has upgraded a further 37 locations with Massive MIMO technology, in preparation for the deployment of 5G. Sites include areas across Muscat, Al Batinah, Al Wusta, A’Sharqiyah, Dhahira and Dakhiliyah, with more locations set to follow. Ooredoo says that Massive MIMO technology increases data transmission speeds and improves the network’s capacity to connect more customers. In December last year the firm began by enhancing its LTE home broadband service with Massive MIMO at 14 sites in Muscat, Al Batinah, Al Wusta, Sharqiya, Dahira and Dakhliah.
