Vodafone Idea signs up Nokia for LTE rollout

India’s largest cellco by subscribers Vodafone Idea has enlisted Finnish vendor Nokia for the deployment of advanced LTE technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Nokia will rollout its ‘future-ready’ LTE network across multiple service areas, including its Single RAN Advanced, Massive MIMO and small cell equipment. Nokia noted that the Single RAN solution would allow Vodafone Idea to simplify its network installation and management, whilst its Massive MIMO and small cell solutions would boost the cellco’s capacity as well as download speeds and coverage.
