Videotron’s revenues climb 3% in 4Q18

Quebec-based cableco Videotron posted telecommunications revenues of CAD866.1 million (USD650.1 million) in October-December 2018, up 3% year-on-year from CAD841.7 million in Q4 2017, with fourth-quarter telecoms EBITDA reaching CAD425.9 million, up from CAD394.9 million a year earlier. In Q4 2018 Videotron added a net 33,100 mobile subscribers to reach a total of 1.154 million (up by 129,800 y-o-y) and 7,000 cable broadband internet customers to report 1.705 million in total at 31 December (up 38,000 y-o-y).

Videotron, part of Quebecor, is currently bidding in the ongoing auction for spectrum licences in the 600MHz band run by Innovation, Science & Economic Development Canada (which began as scheduled on 12 March).
