Over 100 rural communities get SaskTel’s interNET Extended 25

11 Mar 2019

Provincial Canadian operator SaskTel has expanded coverage of its ‘interNET Extended 25’ broadband service to 19 additional communities in Saskatchewan province, giving access to download speeds of up to 25Mbps – ‘the fastest SaskTel has ever offered in rural areas’. interNET Extended 25 has now reached over 100 rural communities in less than a year of rollout, SaskTel CEO Doug Burnett added.

Earlier this month SaskTel’s ‘interNET Extended 10’ service expanded to 25 Indigenous and northern Saskatchewan communities, enabling 10Mbps/1Mbps download/upload – doubling the speeds previously available in these areas. The telco earmarked CAD301 million (USD224 million) investment in the province for 2018-2019, and over CAD1.4 billion through 2023.
