Telekom Romania, the country’s third largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, will increase its prices for fixed and mobile broadband from 15 April, reports Romania Insider. The decision comes as a result of Telekom struggling to cope with rising costs and is the second move by a Romanian telco to up its prices, after RCS&RDS (DIGI) also took a similar decision.
The monthly fees charged by Telekom will increase by RON2 (USD0.5) including VAT for both mobile and fixed broadband services. ‘All the efforts made by Telekom Romania to strengthen the company’s commitment to the local market are translated into continuous investments in the network and the development of innovative and customer-friendly services. But as a result of the increase in cost of providing communications services, Telekom Romania has to raise the fees for the fixed and mobile subscriptions for residential and business customers starting 15 April 2019,’ a company representative explained.
