NTT DOCOMO, Mizuho Bank hold PoC trial of network-connected auto loan service in Indonesia

4 Mar 2019

JCN Newswire reports that Japan’s NTT DOCOMO and Mizuho Bank are jointly holding a proof-of-concept (PoC) trial in Indonesia to test an advanced financial service – network-connected auto loans – which combines data from an in-vehicle device tracking the vehicle’s location and financial information held by Mizuho Bank with the aim of helping financial institutions to optimise the management of their car loans. The pair say the trials will be conducted through their respective local subsidiaries between 1 March an 30 November 2019. The Indonesian trial marks the latest in a series of initiatives undertaken by the Japanese mobile network operator to collaborate with partners to interconnect cars and data for diverse value added services (VAS). Going forward, DOCOMO and Mizuho aim to expand the service both within Indonesia and throughout the ASEAN region.
