Ukrainian nationwide fixed network operator Ukrtelecom’s total revenues dropped by 2.3% in full-year 2018 to UAH6.4 billion (USD236 million) whilst its ‘telecom services’ revenue fell by 3.6% to UAH5.5 billion, caused by the continuing decline of the fixed telephony segment, only partly offset by gains in broadband internet access. Annual consumer internet access revenues climbed 4.7% to UAH1.3 billion, whilst B2B (SME) internet turnover jumped 16% to UAH344 million and the corporate internet/data segment continued rising to UAH520 million, meaning total internet segment sales now accounted for 39.3% of Ukrtelecom’s telecom services revenue total. Consolidated FY18 EBITDA reached UAH1.6 billion. Net profit fell to UAH474 million (compared to UAH868 million in 2017). Fixed telephony active lines continued to decline, by around 800,000 in twelve months to just under 3.9 million, accelerated by ‘numerous’ copper cable thefts, according to the operator.
