26 Feb 2019

German telecoms group Deutsche Telekom (DT) has revealed that it has rolled out 150 5G antennas across six European countries, in order to test the new technology. The firm is currently testing 5G in Austria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland and the Netherlands. The antennas, which are based entirely on the 5G New Radio (5G NR) standard, will transmit data over the 5G network in the first quarter of this year.

‘5G is getting real in 2019,’ states Claudia Nemat, Board Member for Technology and Innovation at DT, adding: ‘5G will unleash its full power where many people come together or many machines interact with each other: in cities, stadiums, concerts, universities, administrations and factories.’
