Nepal Telecom secures 800MHz spectrum for 4G expansion

Nepal Telecom has been allocated spectrum in the 800MHz frequency band for the expansion of its 4G network in rural areas. Local news source NepaliTelecom.com reports that the country’s Radio Frequency Allocation Committee has agreed to award 10MHz of spectrum to the mobile market leader. At present, Nepal Telecom’s LTE network, which operates in the 1800MHz band, is restricted to Kathmandu and Pokhara.
