Colombia to allocate E-band spectrum

Colombia’s Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (Ministerio de Tecnologias de la Informacion y las Comunicaciones, MinTIC) has issued a request for expressions of interest (EoI) in a proposed sale of E-band spectrum (60GHz-90GHz). The watchdog claims that of the frequencies in question are suitable for ‘last mile connections and the deployment of cells in urban areas’ as well as supporting 4G optimisation. Interested parties are invited to submit applications between 14 and 18 February.
