ISP Red Uno acquired by EdgeUno

11 Feb 2019

EdgeUno, which bills itself as a collaboration between ‘three seasoned hyper-scale technology executives with a passion for innovation’, has informed TeleGeography that it has acquired Colombian ISP Red Uno, giving it a foothold in the continent. The acquisition comes after EdgeUno raised USD500,000 in its first seed round of funding. Company representative Mehmet Akcin commented: ‘Red Uno is one of the first ISPs in Colombia, and they’ve been providing vital internet and colocation services to the country’s government agencies, corporations and enterprises for decades. We see this acquisition as the first step towards a larger goal of expanding this much-needed edge computing capability to other emerging economies in the region.’
