Du, one of two telecoms operators in the United Arab Emirates, says it is looking to launch 5G mobile services towards the end of this year. A report from Mubasher says the telco will offer 5G connectivity to individual users once handsets supporting the technology hit the market.
In November 2018 the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) issued 5G wireless spectrum to the country’s two incumbent telcos, Etisalat and Du. The pair were allocated frequencies in the 3.3GHz-3.8GHz range.
