23 Jan 2019

Ghanaian mobile LTE provider Surfline Communications has expanded its 4G network to cover a further 93 locations in the Greater Accra region, writes Tech Voice Africa. New coverage areas include Kwabenya, Oyarifa, Ayikai, Abokobi and Agbogba. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Surfline launched its LTE network in August 2014 and at 30 September 2018 had around 89,000 subscribers.

As previously reported in CommsUpdate, Surfline’s head office was shut down by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in October 2018 due to unpaid taxes. At January 2019, however, the company appeared to be back in full operation and is continuing to grow its LTE footprint.
