Airtel rolls out 4G to Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Indian cellco Bharti Airtel has launched 4G services in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, becoming the first operator to offer LTE services in the territory, the Economic Times reports. The system will initially cover Port Blair, before being gradually rolled out to other parts of the archipelago. Speaking at the official launch of the network Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan was quoted as saying: ‘The launch of 4G services in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is another major milestone towards fulfilling our vision of digitally connected India.’
