2 Jan 2019

Nepalese telco Vianet has announced that it has partnered with Finnish vendor Nokia to deliver an ultra-high speed fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband network across Nepal. The pair have targeted coverage of over 200,000 customers by the start of 2019 and Vianet claims the new high speed network will allow subscribers to access connection speeds of up to 2.5Gbps. Vianet also recently announced the opening of a new branch in Pokhara; the company’s services are currently available in ten districts of Nepal, with the operator aiming to expand to four further districts by end-2019.
