Canadian cellco Freedom Mobile – owned by Shaw Communications – has disclosed on its website the next cities where it will expand its commercial LTE mobile network services. In February 2019 it plans to switch on its 4G network in Victoria (British Columbia) and Red Deer (Alberta), followed by Pembroke, Brockville, Belleville, Cornwall and Cobourg (Ontario) in March 2019. Other locations in British Columbia and Alberta are flagged as ‘coming soon’. Freedom says an additional 1.3 million Canadians will get access to its network in 2019. Its existing coverage spans Calgary, BC Lower Mainland, Edmonton, Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area.
