AT&T FTTH service now live in 84 metropolitan areas

US telecoms giant AT&T has deployed fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology in another twelve locations, increasing its fibre-optic footprint to 84 metropolitan areas. New cities covered by the gigabit-capable network include: Amarillo, Texas; Bowling Green, Kentucky; Pensacola, Florida and Waco, Texas. The telco says that it passed more than three million additional locations with its FTTH network in 2018, meaning it now passes more than ten million homes and businesses. Going forward, AT&T plans to reach at least 14 million locations with FTTH technology by mid-2019.
