T-Mobile Poland enhances 4G network using 2100MHz spectrum

3 Dec 2018

T-Mobile Poland has launched LTE services using frequencies in the 2100MHz band in 13 markets. In May this year, along with infrastructure sharing partner Orange Polska, T-Mobile began utilising 10MHz of its 15MHz block of spectrum in the 2100MHz band for 4G services, with the remaining 5MHz still available for 3G equipment. The firm has now added Karpacz and Zakopane to the regions already migrated to the new 4G band: Bydgoszcz, the Upper Silesian Industrial District, Krakow, Lublin, Olsztyn, Poznan, Szczecin, Torun, Tri-City (including Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot), Warsaw and Wroclaw. T-Mobile says using the 2100MHz band for 4G enables it to increase network capacity and download rates.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, T-Mobile is the third largest cellco in Poland behind Orange and P4 (Play).
