Mobilis LTE reaches another ten provinces

3 Dec 2018

Algerie Telecom’s cellular division Mobilis has announced the expansion of its 4G LTE mobile network to ten additional provinces (wilayas), expanding its total LTE footprint to over 40 of Algeria’s 48 wilayas. The latest 4G rollout entered parts of Ain El Defla, Annaba, Bechar, Bouira, Chlef, El Taref, Jijel, Khenchela, Laghouat and Mostaghanem. To help promote LTE, Mobilis also announced a limited-period promotional mobile broadband package for modem users, with data volume doubled to 100GB at no extra charge. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database says that Mobilis launched its LTE network services in October 2016, reaching 14 wilayas by Q1 2017 and 31 wilayas by 1Q18, whilst passing four million active LTE subscribers at the start of this year.
