Nar reaches half a million LTE subscribers

Azerbaijan’s third largest cellco by subscribers, Azerfon (Nar), has increased its number of 4G LTE subscribers to 500,000. The increase in subscriber numbers is attributed to the company’s continued expansion and installation of new 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) across the country. Nar has reportedly doubled its number of LTE subscribers from the beginning of 2018 and according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Nar had a 24.4% share of the Azerbaijan mobile market at 30 September 2018, gaining ground on second-placed operator Bakcell which had 29.9% market share at the same date.
