Ericsson opens 5G test zone in Poland

16 Nov 2018

Swedish equipment vendor Ericsson has opened a 5G test zone in the Polish city of Lodz, which is home to one of its two R&D centres in Poland. The firm is working with Lodz University of Technology and the Lodz Special Economic Zone (LSEZ) to create a 5G ecosystem, Media2 writes. Agnieszka Sygitowicz, Vice President of LSEZ, is quoted as saying: ‘We are at the technological breakthrough stage that will change the way people and machines communicate every day. Together with partners, Lodz University of Technology, Ericsson, selected venture capitalists and start-ups, we will develop solutions using fifth-generation technology, which we will soon use to build awareness of 5G applications.’
