French conglomerate Bouygues Group has reported revenues of EUR25.219 billion (USD28.5 billion) for the nine months ended 30 September 2018, up 6% year-on-year from EUR23.752 billion in the year-ago period. Bouygues generated a net profit attributable to the group (excluding exceptional items) of EUR772 million in 9M18, an EUR83 million improvement from a net profit of EUR689 million twelve months earlier. The group reported that its telecoms arm Bouygues Telecom ‘continued its very good commercial performance’ and recorded an improvement in its financials with a 6.5% y-o-y rise in revenue, from EUR3.695 billion in 9M17 to EUR2.934 billion in the corresponding period of 2018, while EBITDA grew by EUR123 million in the period under review to EUR931 million, and CAPEX stood at EUR920 million (in line with earmarked annual capex of EUR1.2 billion for 2018). The telecoms operator reported a net profit of EUR311 million in 9M18, up from a net profit of EUR216 million in the year-ago period.
In operational terms, Bouygues Telecom reported a total of 15.764 million mobile subscribers at 30 September 2018, up from 14.387 million in Q3 2017. The operator claimed to have 467,000 fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) subscribers by the end of September 2018, with 3.604 million broadband subscribers overall.
