Turkish telecoms regulator the Information & Communication Technologies Authority (Bilgi Teknolojileri ve Iletisim Kurumu, BTK) is overseeing the country’s first ‘5G open test site’ at the ‘BTK Market Surveillance Laboratory’ located in Ankara’s Hacettepe University, Milliyet.com.tr reported. The launch of the test facility involved operators Turk Telekom, Turkcell and Vodafone Turkey, and the lab’s infrastructure is open for testing by technology companies including start-ups, plus other stakeholders in the communications sector alongside academics, research teams, students and others.
