Swiss full-service provider Sunrise has booked a 1.9% increase in Q3 revenue to CHF469 million (USD467.4 million), whilst EBITDA for the period edged up by 0.2% year-on-year to CHF154 million. Net profit for the three-month period was CHF32 million a decrease of 92.9% y-o-y from CHF442 million in Q3 2017, although this figure represented an increase of 42.5% if the gains from the sale of Sunrise’s tower operations last year are excluded. The telco’s growth was driven by subscriber growth in the fixed segment, with landline voice, internet and TV services all registering net subscriber additions – to 460,000 (voice, up 5.9% y-o-y), 449,000 (broadband, up 9.4%) and 236,000 (TV, up 17.2%). In the mobile space, Sunrise continued to improve its subscriber mix, recording a 7.9% increase in its post-paid wireless user base to 1.686 million whilst its pre-paid base fell by 14.9% y-o-y to 677,000. Blended ARPU in the mobile space was stable at CHF32.9 – compared to CHF33.0 in Q3 2017 – but ARPU for the fixed segment increased to CHF69.2 from CHF67.7.
