Vodacom Group is planning to invest ZAR50 billion (USD3.4 billion) in its South African mobile unit over the next five years, Agence Ecofin reports, citing information disclosed during the Investment Conference in Johannesburg (25 October-27 October). Vodacom is planning to use a portion of the funds to launch 5G in South Africa, though it first must wait for the government to release 5G-suitable spectrum (earmarked for the first quarter of 2019).
