Toledo-based regional ISP Buckeye Broadband is the latest US telco to upgrade its cable broadband networks to the DOCSIS 3.1 standard, allowing the introduction of download speeds of up to 1Gbps for end-users. The upgrade incorporates Harmonic’s CableOS virtualised cable access solution, the cableco notes. Formerly known as Buckeye CableSystem, Buckeye Broadband is owned by Block Communications and serves northwest Ohio and parts of southeast Michigan.
