Xplore Mobile, a new 4G LTE mobile network operator in the Canadian province of Manitoba, will launch commercial services on 5 November in Winnipeg and Brandon, reports MobileSyrup. Xplore Mobile, owned by nationwide fixed-wireless broadband provider Xplornet Communications, will have six retail locations operating at launch, whilst the company has acquired 24,700 mobile subscribers transferred from Bell MTS, courtesy of antimonopoly conditions imposed on Bell Canada’s March 2017 takeover of Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS). Bell MTS also transferred to Xplornet a total of 2×40MHz of 700MHz, AWS-1 (1700MHz) and 2500MHz spectrum covering Manitoba and is obliged to provide the cellular newcomer with additional network support for three years.
